Why is that no matter how good I look, or hard I work I’m always so hard on myself? My arms look fat! Is that cellulite? My stomach looks pudgy, my cheeks and face are getting so round! Is this a form of body dysmorphia? What does a middle age woman really look like? Jada Pinkett Smith’s mom? Christie Brinkley? I think that’s the exception to the rule. If you’re eating well, exercising regularly and let’s face it…dressing for your body type can you do much more?
Last week I did a three-day juice cleanse. Not because I thought I would lose tons of weight, but for pure gut health and feeling just a bit better. I was able to sustain it and felt great. There are some days when I just substitute fresh juice for two meals. There are no rules. I’m trying to heed my own advice, when I tell my daughter it doesn’t matter if you don’t do well, as long as you gave it 100%. We’re not all going to look like super models, but if YOU feel good about the way you look, then it’s enough. Try substituting one meal first, or a ten-minute yoga class, a walk around the block or a lettuce wrap instead of the bun. Baby steps are okay! One step at a time! You don’t have win the race! There is no race!

A lot of women are like this, me included. I hope that one day we can all get to the point where we are fully happy with ourselves and not care what others think!
I agree, sometimes I don’t know whose perspective I’m focused on! Mine or the society we live in!
I agree! We have all been brain washed by the media and its perceptions of beauty.
